A Pledge to God

A Pledge to God (Korean: 신과의 약속; RR: Singwaui Yaksok) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on MBC from November 24, 2018, to February 16, 2019. The series was directed by Yoon Jae-moon and written by Hong Young-hee. It occupied the Saturday 21:00 time slot, succeeding Hide and Seek and preceding Love in Sadness.

Plot

The story follows Seo Ji-young (Han Chae-young), an announcer married to architect Kim Jae-wook (Bae Soo-bin). Their marriage ends in divorce after Ji-young discovers that her friend, Woo Na-kyung (Oh Yoon-ah), is pregnant with her husband's child. Years later, Ji-young has remarried and is living with her new husband, Song Min-ho (Lee Chun-hee), and her son, Hyun-woo. When Hyun-woo is diagnosed with leukemia, Ji-young discovers that neither she nor her current husband is a compatible bone marrow donor. This medical crisis forces her to reconnect with her ex-husband, Jae-wook, who is now married to Na-kyung, leading to difficult ethical and personal decisions regarding the possibility of having a second child to save their son.
