A Frozen Flower (Korean: 쌍화점; RR: Ssanghwajeom) is a 2008 South Korean period drama film directed and written by Yu Ha. Set during the final years of the Goryeo Dynasty, the film explores complex dynamics of power, duty, and personal desire within the royal court.

Plot

The story takes place under the political influence of the Yuan Dynasty. The King of Goryeo, played by Joo Jin-mo, faces intense pressure to produce an heir to secure the throne. Despite his position, the King shares a deep, intimate relationship with his loyal general, Hong-lim, portrayed by Jo In-sung. In an attempt to satisfy the demands of his court while maintaining his own desires, the King commands Hong-lim to engage in a sexual relationship with the Queen, played by Song Ji-hyo. This decision leads to unforeseen consequences that threaten the stability of the kingdom and the lives of those involved.
