A Boy and Sungreen

A Boy and Sungreen (Korean: 보희와 녹양; RR: Boheewa Nokyang) is a 2019 South Korean coming-of-age drama film directed by Ahn Ju-young. The film explores the lives of two 14-year-old friends, Bo-hee and Nok-yang, as they navigate adolescence and personal family histories.

Plot

The story follows Bo-hee (played by Ahn Ji-ho) and Nok-yang (played by Kim Ju-a), who share a unique bond as they were born on the same day in the same hospital. Despite their contrasting personalities, the two are close friends. Bo-hee, who has grown up without a father, discovers information suggesting his father may still be alive. With the support of Nok-yang, who is navigating life without a mother, Bo-hee embarks on a journey to locate his father.

Production

The film was produced by KAFA Films. Principal photography for the project commenced on September 25, 2017, and concluded on October 25, 2017. The film had its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival in October 2018 before receiving a theatrical release in South Korea on May 29, 2019.
