4th Period Murder Mystery
4th Period Murder Mystery (Korean: 4교시 추리영역; RR: 4Gyoshi Churi Yeongyeok) is a 2009 South Korean thriller film directed by Lee Sang-Yong. The film follows a high school student who becomes the prime suspect in a murder case and must work with a classmate to identify the real killer before the next class period begins.

Plot
The story takes place during the fourth period, a time when most students are in gym class. Han Jung-Hoon (Yoo Seung-Ho), a top student, enters a classroom to discover his classmate Kim Tae-Gyu (Jo Sang-Keun) murdered. Jung-Hoon and the victim had a history of personal animosity.
Shortly after, Lee Da-Jung (Kang So-Ra), a student with an interest in mystery and deductive reasoning, enters the room and finds Jung-Hoon standing near the body, covered in blood. While she identifies him as the primary suspect, she does not believe he is the killer. The two have 40 minutes to find the true culprit before the rest of the student body returns to the classroom and discovers the crime.

Production
Production for the film began in April 2009. During the filming process, director Shin Dong-Yeob left the project following conflicts with the production company, Sway Entertainment. Lee Sang-Yong, who had previously directed television commercials, took over as director. The production delays caused by this change led to the departure of actress Kim So-Eun, who was replaced by Kang So-Ra. The film's cinematographer was also replaced during this period.

4th Period Murder Mystery was released in South Korea on August 13, 2009. During its opening weekend from August 14 to August 16, 2009, the film ranked 11th at the South Korean box office, selling 34,595 tickets and accounting for 1.1% of total ticket sales for that weekend.
