49 Days (South Korean Television Series)
49 Days (Korean: 49일; RR: 49il) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on SBS from March 16 to May 19, 2011. The series, written by So Hyeon-Kyeong and directed by Jo Young-Gwang and Park Yong-Soon, explores supernatural themes centered on the afterlife and the value of genuine human relationships.

Plot
The story follows Shin Ji-Hyun, a woman whose seemingly perfect life is interrupted by a near-fatal car accident. While her physical body lies in a coma, she encounters a supernatural entity known as the Scheduler, who oversees the transition of souls to the afterlife. The Scheduler informs Ji-Hyun that she may return to life if she can collect three tears shed out of pure, sincere love for her by individuals outside of her immediate family within 49 days.
To accomplish this task, Ji-Hyun is granted permission to inhabit the body of Song Lee-Kyung, a woman who works the night shift at a convenience store and struggles with severe depression. As Ji-Hyun navigates this borrowed life, she discovers unsettling truths about the people she once trusted, forcing her to reevaluate her relationships and the nature of her own existence.

Production
The series was produced by Choi Mun-Seok and broadcast on SBS in the Wednesday and Thursday 21:55 time slot. It followed the conclusion of the drama Sign and preceded the broadcast of City Hunter. Filming for the production commenced in late January 2011.
