48th Baeksang Arts Awards

The 48th Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony took place on April 26, 2012, in Seoul, South Korea. Organized by IS PLUS Corp., the event honored outstanding achievements in the South Korean film and television industries throughout the preceding year.

Film Awards

In the film category, the Grand Prize (Daesang) was awarded to Nameless Gangster: Rules of The Time. The award for Best Film went to Unbowed. Byun Young-Joo received the Best Director award for her work on Helpless.

Acting honors were presented to Ahn Sung-Ki, who won Best Actor for Unbowed, and Uhm Jung-Hwa, who won Best Actress for Dancing Queen. The Best New Actor award was given to Kim Sung-Kyun for Nameless Gangster: Rules of The Time, while Bae Suzy received the Best New Actress award for her performance in Architecture 101.

Television Awards

The television category saw the SBS drama Tree With Deep Roots receive the Grand Prize (Daesang). The award for Best Drama was presented to the MBC series The Moon Embracing The Sun. The directing award for television was shared by Kim Jung-Min and Park Hyun-Suk for their work on The Princess' Man.
