31st Blue Dragon Film Awards
The 31st Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony took place on November 26, 2010, at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, South Korea. The event, presented by the newspaper Sports Chosun, honored the most significant achievements in South Korean cinema released during the preceding year. The ceremony was hosted by actors Kim Hye-soo and Lee Beom-soo.
Major Winners
The thriller The Secret Reunion, directed by Jang Hun, received the award for Best Film. The film Moss, directed by Kang Woo-suk, was a major success at the ceremony, securing the Best Director award for Kang and the Best Actor award for Jung Jae-young. The award for Best Actress was shared by two performers: Yun Jeong-hee for her role in Poetry and Su-ae for her performance in Midnight F.M.
Acting and Directorial Awards
The supporting acting categories recognized performances in Moss and The Housemaid. Yu Hae-jin won Best Supporting Actor for his work in Moss, while Youn Yuh-jung received the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in The Housemaid. The Best New Director award was presented to Kim Kwang-sik for My Dear Desperado. In the newcomer categories, T.O.P won Best New Actor for his role in 71: Into the Fire, and Lee Min-jung received the Best New Actress award for Cyrano Agency.
Technical Achievements
The ceremony also recognized excellence in technical filmmaking. Lee Mo-gae won the Best Cinematography award for his work on The Secret Reunion, and Oh Seung-chul was honored with the Best Lighting award for I Saw the Devil.
